I had a layoff from oils for several years after I fell in love with printmaking and was honing my skills at that. However, the trip to Paris in 2016 included a bunch of watercolor sky studies, and skies are more fun in oil than any other medium, so I've found myself painting again. Painting on paper combines the immediacy of drawing with the lushness of paint, so I've been gessoing my standard printmaking paper to paint on as well. Here are the series of oils included in my March 2017 show "Autobiography." They are a mix of figure work, still lifes, and landscapes that are personal to me.
