In 2010, Memphis started its own branch of the international Urban Sketchers movement, where artists get together each month and go out into the city to draw. Watching other artists do quick sketches with color included inspired me to try my hand at watercolor for the first time. I like the liveliness of the watercolor in combination with a line sketch, and I'm having a great time working out in the world and documenting my favorite places.
