Mr. Darcy

Mr. Darcy was my beloved boxer mix, so named because adopting one from the shelter seems like the best way for a girl to get herself a Mr. Darcy, in addition to his natural reserve and dignity.

Mr. Darcy changed my art in his time with me. He was always next to me, usually sleeping or hanging out, so he was the perfect model. I'd never drawn dogs (or people) much before him, and I enjoyed adding some living presence to my sketches and paintings.

You can  read back about his first trip across the country in his dedicated blog Mr. Darcy's Odyssey (which reads last to first, as a classic blog does).
