It's spring, and I've been drawing flowers a lot lately. I've also had a number of truly lovely folks bringing me flowers after Mr. Darcy died. I didn't manage to sketch all of them, but I do love making ephemeral gifts permanent in a sketchbook. It's so special to flip back through later and get that lovely emotional lift of a beautiful present all over again long after the actual flowers have faded. A couple of neighbors brought me flowers plus cake, so that of course made it into the sketchbook as well. I'm so grateful to everyone who has reached out to be kind to me through this period. It means a tremendous amount. I've been sketching less lately than usual, but it does feel good to have some beautiful things to draw. Sketching is almost always a refuge for me, and I'm so glad to have it to dive into.
