My holiday cards are small blocks, these are 3x4”, so they’re the perfect travel project. I brought several small blocks out west with me and will go home and print at the end of my trip. This is a chickadee from the feeder. I put him on a tree trunk but that may make him look too much like a woodpecker. We’ll see. And I did a watercolor sketch of some white alder trees that I love out here and carved this one as well. I’ll try different colors when I get back — at the moment I’m thinking of trying them in silver as well as the black. Maybe even red or green.
I tried a 4x6” block for a landscape today, but it didn’t go well. Sometimes that’s just how it goes. I think it may need two layers instead of trying to cram it into one. I’ll see how my time out here goes, but I may just try it fresh.
