This is a pretty rough print of a wading bird (heron? egret? I’m not sure) done from a photo I took several years ago. It’s a companion piece for the pelican I did a few weeks ago, both possibly for the show at WAMA in 2022. We’ll see what I have collected by then and what they like best. I’m still planning to keep going on the Quarantine Journal as well, but it feels nice to be locking in on my main work again too. This will probably be printed in a couple of different editions. With the pelican I’m thinking the block by itself for one and a second edition with the blue sky block as color behind it. This was a sunset shot, and I’ll play with the same simple background and some pinks and purples. Watch this space for more tests to come. I also need to refine some things on the bird himself especially the over large lump in the neck. But for now, the sun actually came out, and I’m due for my daily walk, so I’m heading out the door to get some vitamin D. Best to all of you as we keep finding our new daily routines.
