It's good to be home again, and I took the occasion of an appointment out east to draw a little further from home than I normally do. This railroad track runs the spine of Memphis, right along our main artery for much of the way, and much of my younger life was marked by waiting at crossings, trying to remember what time the trains come through, trying to think where the underpasses are, etc. Now, finally, I live on the north side of the train in a section of Memphis that is united on one side of the tracks, so it figures less in my life than it used to. But it's still a major landmark for me when I venture out into the areas where I grew up.

Martha, The sketches are so charming! Can't wait for the Art Opening at Playhouse.
Thank you so much, Diane.
