I am completely charmed by this wildflower. It has the architectural feeling of mapapples on the forest floor, and I've always loved them back home.
It only took Mr. Darcy about two hours to make a list of me. I posted yesterday's sketch, and then we went walking on the first day warm enough for me to go out in a short skirt and tank top.
Here is yesterday's post: While I love the sound of rushing mountain brooks, which are a rare treat for this Delta girl, Mr. Darcy is not at all sure about the noise and the movement. He's getting tentatively better, but he still prefers quiet water to drink from on our walks.
This was the sign next to our picnic on Thursday. We've been to both edges of both state parks in our neighborhood. They're both modest sized but with great trails and variety of landscape.
