These sketches of Mr. Darcy are usually done from photos I take, since we're out, and he's moving around. But this was the scene one day as I glanced down from my work table, so I grabbed my watercolors and sketched it right then. The stuffed octopus was a present from good friends, and it came across the country with us.

We're here for several months away from the sofa where Mr. Darcy usually sleeps, so I decided to order him a new bed when we got here.
I'm back from my week with the sisters in time for Fathers' Day. Dad found me my first, beloved dog, was there when I adopted Mr. Darcy, and takes all my dogs (three over the years) out to the country for their very best days. My dogs and I have both been lucky to be loved and supported by him.
This blog is taking a brief vacation while I go visit my sisters for a few days. But I have photographic evidence that Mr. Darcy is happily consoling himself in my absence with a steak bone from our kind next door neighbor.
Mr. Darcy's diet has gotten widely more interesting in a household where meat is cooked regularly and there are egg scraps for breakfast every day.
I tend to only cook spinach pie at home. Mr. Darcy gets daily egg scraps and meat here. He is in heaven.
